We have worked hard to improve dopeTONE over the last few weeks. We hope you like the changes! Among the things we have done:

Added a cool new audio source feature.. Try typing in a url for a video from your favorite video sharing site - we extract the audio and let YOU select the portion you want for your ringtone! Cool eh?

Dramatically improved the look of the site in Internet Explorer!

Worked on improving ringtone quality… You should now have the loudest and clearest ringtones ever!

Added some extra help text to assist everyone in getting their ringtones more easily.

Ahh, TGIF. Another update on our continued quest for dopification. T-Mobile MMS support should now be enabled. If you tried this in the past and got no results, give it another go. Remember, the name of the game is usually to get your mobile browser to go to the link we send to your phone via SMS. If you can get on the internet with your phone, we can get a dopeTONE to you. Keep trying, and email us if you have trouble.

Fixed a few bugs with MMS message reporting. Some of you may have noticed that dopeTone wasn’t correctly reporting the transmission of your MMS messages in step 3. It looks like we neglected to include the possibility of MMS reporting when we setup our CSS for this step, but it is working fine now in our development environment. Look for this to be fixed with the next weekly update.

Last night we finished up some last issues with the new site release. And now its here. The major update is our method of conversion for the files that are uploaded. Instead of waiting for the user to move to the next step before we convert, we do the conversion right off. Other than that, step 3 has been cleaned up a bit and the phone selection menus now have a buncha entries that were missing. Remember, if your phone is not listed the site will still probably work for you - just select the ‘Not Listed’ phone option.

We have a few plans for the future, mainly we want to make it easier for the user to get the ringtone to their phone. To this end, we will be adding a jump code url which can be typed into a phone and the ringtone can be downloaded directly. This new ability will also eventually include an autodetector for phone types. That mean the users will only need to select their provider (if even that). We are also beginning to work on a gallery feature which will have prebuilt ringtones ready for users to download.

Recently dopetone.com went beta after a few months of work. The site works (for the phones and browsers we have tested), but we need to get others to test our site. We want to create a site that users find enjoyable and easy. With that philosophy in mind, we will be updating the site regularly every few weeks with new requested features
and bug fixes. Thanks for using our site, and we hope you enjoy it.
